Exilis Elite

The Exilis® Elite, manufactured by BTL Aesthetics is a non-invasive face and body contouring technology that tightens skin and reduces fat while also minimising fine lines and wrinkles.

It contours the body and face by combining monopolar radio frequency (RF) energy with ultrasound to induce fat lipolysis (fat cell breakdown) and collagen remodelling (skin tightening), as well as skin cooking.

How does it work?

The Exilis Elite delivers controlled heating to deep tissue, addressing deeper wrinkles, sagging skin, and jowls, as well as the superficial skin layer, treating finer lines, using a mix of radiofrequency energy (3.4Mhz up to 120 Watts), ultrasound, and skin cooling.

The Exilis disrupts the collagen fibres deep within the skin using targeted thermal (heat) radiation. To accomplish collagen tightening, the temperature at the skin’s surface must be raised to 40-42°C for 4 or 5 minutes in each area treated. You will experience a warming sensation as a result of this and some redness and local swelling may appear but will resolve soon after treatment. The triple helix structure of collagen begins to unravel when exposed to heat.

The healing process promotes the growth of new collagen fibers, smoothing the skin and minimising the appearance of deep wrinkles and fine lines over time. The new collagen fibroblasts tighten loose or slightly sagging skin, giving it a more youthful appearance, while also strengthening and stimulating the collagen network, enhancing skin texture and laxity.

Please Note: You will need to be well hydrated the day before, day of and 2 days after treatments.

What areas can be treated?

The Exilis Elite is used to treat a wide range of wrinkles on the face, neck, and body, from superficial fine lines to deep wrinkles in the deep tissue. The body and face are reshaped and recontoured thus the skin becomes smoother and wrinkles are reduced.

Exilis Elite unit has two components: one for fat loss and the other for skin tightening.

Fat Reduction -the applicator heats fat cells to the point where they burst, allowing the body’s lymphatic system to remove the fat. It works wonders on areas like the stomach, inner and outer thighs, upper arms, and back that are resistant to diet and exercise.
Skin tightening – the applicator is used to remodel and tighten the skin’s collagen support tissues, activating and strengthening the collagen network and improving skin laxity and texture.

The Exilis Elite works wonders on parts of the face that are prone to sagging, including at the jawline and beneath the eyes.

*It is important to note that this is not a weight-loss programme however fat deposits in hard-to-reach area can be reduced dramatically with long-term results as long as you also follow a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

Is Exilis Elite safe?

The applicator tip includes a built-in thermometer to prevent overheating, as well as a feature termed “layered advanced cooling,” which allows the practitioner to precisely manage the heat and level of energy given. This determines whether the energy delivered by the Exilis is directed at the surface skin layer or deeper tissue.
The real-time control of cooling and heating also ensures that the therapy is comfortable for the patient at the skin’s surface, and that, while the skin may feel slightly heated throughout the treatment, there will be no discomfort or bruising.

What to expect?

You can usually resume normal activities following your Exilis treatment. In some cases redness and local swelling may appear but this will resolve soon after. We encourage light walking and light physical activity after your Exilis procedure. You may see results straight after the procedure but to get the best result it is important to complete all your treatments set out in your treatment plan.

How many Treatments are needed?

Normally you would need 4 plus treatments for both the face and the body to ensure the best results are achieved. However this is dependant upon what changes you would like and on your personal requirements. The treatments would need to be 7-14 days apart but all this will be discussed with you at your Initial consultation and a bespoke treatment plan will be tailored to suit your individual needs.

*Note You May see effects of the treatment after your first visit, but you will not see full results until after 2 to 6 treatment, For skin laxity you may not see full results until 3 to 6 months after your final treatment.
